We have shipped product around the world.

WHAT TYPE OF REPAIR PARTS DO YOU USE?

We use your tool manufacturer’s parts or, if they are unavailable, we use aftermarket parts of equal or better quality. We warranty any parts we use to repair your tools for a full year, excluding heating elements.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE THE PROPER GENERATOR FOR MY APPLICATION?

The electricity created by a generator is measured in voltage and watts. When choosing a generator, first determine your specific needs and then you can pick the generator that supplies enough wattage for everything you want to run.
GENERATOR VOLTAGE: Voltage is a measure of the “pressure” of an electric current. Knowing the voltage of the equipment you want to operate using the generator will determine the generator power size.
GENERATOR WATTAGE: Wattage measures the “volume” of electricity a generator creates. Wattage requirements increase with each additional piece of equipment you add to a generator to power. Before choosing a generator, you’ll need to decide what equipment you want to run. In addition, you need to have an idea of the length of the power cord you will be using.
HOW DO I DETERMINE MY WATTAGE NEEDS? Most pieces of equipment list their power requirements in the instruction manuals or on their nameplates. The number you want to get to is watts, and as you may remember from high school physics, watts = volts x amps. Most devices list amps at a given voltage, so just do the multiplication to see how many watts they draw. Also remember that electric motors use more power to start up than they do to run, so factor this in when determining how many watts you will need from your generator. Here is an example: On a typical job I operate 2 Rions and a Laron with a 100 foot line cord. What size generator do I need? Rions ( 2 x 1600 watts ) + Laron 4600 watts = 7800 + 1600 (20%) = 9400 watts is your minimum need. We would recommend no less than a 12000 watt generator.

HOW LONG HAS BAK THERMOPLASTIC WELDING TECHNOLOGY BEEN IN EXISTENCE?

BAK Thermoplastic Welding Technology is a Swiss Company founded in 1989.

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ON THE BAK LINE?

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ON HAPCO REPAIRS?

Hapco repairs are warrantied for one year from the date of repair. This includes all parts and labor. As common in the industry, the heating element has no warranty.

DOES THE LARON OPERATE THE SAME AS MY VARIMAT?

Yes, all of the controls are similar. The handle tilt can be used vertically, horizontally or swing over to walk forward so you can operate closer to the edge of the roof. The Laron’s welding speed is approximately 6 feet per minute faster and it has 10 additional feet of power cord than the Varimat.

IS THE RION THE SAME AS THE TRIAC?

Yes, however, the Rion has somewhat higher airflow in addition to a wider heat range. The Rion also has a built in air filter to extend the life of the heating element.
